    Chamonix Ski Holiday

    About Chamonix
At the foot of Mont Blanc, Chamonix’s one of the oldest and most prestigious resorts in France and hosted the first ever Winter Olympics in 1924. The 150km area is relatively small compared to others in the country, but its range of challenging terrain and red and black runs is unbeatable for experienced skiers. The ultimate must-do is the 20km Vallée Blanche, one of the most famous off-piste routes in the world. If you’re more of an intermediate, explore the blues around Le Tour, Les Houches and Brévent-Flégère.

The cosmopolitan town has drawn visitors from all over the world since the 18th century. Wander along the pedestrianised streets to admire Art Deco and Art Nouveau architecture dotted between the Savoyard buildings and speciality sports shops. And the nightlife here is not to be missed, whether you want live music or a late-night cocktails.

This is also one of the top resorts for other activities, with everything from spas to ice caves. For incredible views, head up to the Aiguille du Midi viewing platform. And if you dare, you can also experience Step into the Void, a glass box that hangs over the side of the mountain at 3,842m high.
