    The City

Friedrichshafen, which started as a small settlement back in the 5th Century, has emerged as one of Germany’s premier holiday destinations. Nestled alongside the Northern shore of Lake Constance, and set against the backdrop of the magnificent Alps, this thriving city is the perfect place to relax and to enjoy nature. However, it has much more to show off: painstakingly rebuilt after its near complete destruction in the Second World War, Friedrichshafen has made history as the birthplace of the Zeppelin aircraft. Visit the city’s renowned Zeppelin museum or embark on an exciting voyage on board of a real Zeppelin ship to experience Friedrichshafen’s history.

    Do & See

Friedrichshafen is beautifully located on the Northern banks of Lake Constance, offering unlimited possibilities: why not walk along the lake and enjoy the amazing view of the Austrian and Swiss Alps or climb up on the lookout tower to get a view over the landscape. The town also offers interesting exhibitions like The Zeppelin Museum where you can learn about the history of the flying machines, and, as so, you will certainly find yourself busy with exciting activities.

    Dining

From a culinary point of view, there can be no doubt that Friedrichshafen offers the best of both worlds. Its many fine restaurants serve both traditional southern German dishes as well as fresh seafood from Lake Constance. Try the white fish fillet, which is always a popular choice.

    Cafes

Take a break from all the sightseeing and relax in a café and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. You will find plenty of cosy places around the town serving pastries, cakes, ice-cream and lighter meals or why not try chocolate specialties like the famous Zeppelin praline!
