    The City

Located on the west coast of Sweden, Varberg is a town with some 35 000 inhabitants. Here the rocky coast of Bohuslän meets the open coast of Halland. Alongside the sandy beaches, you find some of Varbergs most central locations. Apelviken, known as one of Northern Europe’s best surfing location, is situated south of the city center.

    Do & See

Varberg is an exciting town with everything at a convenient distance. With its dramatic history as a capital and a strategically important territory for Swedes and Danes, Varberg is today an inspirational historical site. Below are the attractions you do not want to miss.

    Dining

The trend to eat local and organic products is strong in Varberg. Both restaurants and food shops focus strongly on this as well as on maintaining food of high quality. You might also be able to enjoy Halland specialties, such as horseradish, elder or curly kale.

    Cafes

It goes without saying that “having a cup of coffee” is typical for Sweden, and Varberg is no exception. Here you can find a great number of cafés, both by the sea and in the more crowded town center. During summer the cafés offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy your coffee in the sun. During autumn and winter, we suggest a long walk along the sea to make your coffee or tea especially enjoyable.
