    Capistrano Beach, California, United States

Capistrano Beach's charming small town atmosphere and a myriad of recreational opportunities have christened it a viable vacation destination. Branching off from the city of Dana Point, “Capo Beach” is also bordered on by the vivacious Laguna Beach to the north and San Clemente to the south. As one of the few remaining "beach towns" in the busy Orange County area, Capo Beach has (impressively) avoided much of the commercialization common to the area. This makes for a great, uncongested stay.

    The Town

Capistrano Beach, only 2.1 square miles, has managed to remain a small town without the development that has happened in most of the surrounding Orange County area. Of course, don't let its size fool you. Just because it is small doesn't mean it isn't notable. Since many celebrities call Capistrano Beach home, and sightings aren't exclusive to Los Angeles.

Visitors enjoy a less congested stay in California while still being close to major attractions like Disneyland and Legoland. Several beach hotels provide affordable vacation spots with access to the sandy beaches just across the street. Access is easy off I-5, so Capistrano Beach is really a unique destination.

    Do & See

Enjoy the beaches and the small town atmosphere of Capistrano Beach while you are here. When you are ready for action, many attractions are in Dana Point, such as Dana Wharf, whale watching tours, and Doheny State Beach. Traveling just a little farther is Disneyland and Legoland.

    Dining

Capistrano Beach Restaurants include ethnic restaurants and some of the best Mexican Food around. You can get a quick hot dog and follow it up with cool ice cream by the beach.

    Cafes

In true SoCal fashion, health is the word in Dana Point's cafe scene. Most of the food is made with organic produce, often locally grown, and there are even a few smoothie bars where you can cool off with a cool, creamy beverage on a hot day. Of course, there are still traditional coffee houses where you can treat your sweet tooth to a fresh baked pastry, and diner-style dives where you can gnosh on a giant omelette or stack of pancakes.
